On 22 June 2010, an award ceremony for the Sino-German CSR Public Private Partnership (PPP) Programme in Zhejiang was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. In total, 43 representatives from central and provincial governments, pilot companies, NGOs, academia, consulting firms, the media, and other interested companies attended the event.

Opening remarks were delivered by Mr. Mu Zhonghe, Vice Division Chief, Department of WTO Affairs, Ministry of Commerce, Mr. Chen Jianzhong, Division Chief, Division of Legal Affairs, Zhejiang Economic and Information Technology Commission, Mr. Zhang Yu, Vice Director, Zhejiang Solid Waste Management and Supervision Center, Zhejiang Environmental Protection Department, and Mr. Rolf Dietmar, Director, Sino-German CSR Project. In addition, each of the seven pilot companies that participated in the PPP Programme presented their overall achievements and experiences with those in attendance.

The PPP Programme, which started in May 2009 and ended in April 2010, focused on building CSR capacity in the pilot companies, particularly in the area of CSR policy development and CSR strategy implementation. Throughout the Programme the pilot companies paid special attention to, and were trained in, hazardous waste and toxic substances management.

The ceremony concluded with each of the seven pilot companies being awarded certificates.
