On 27 May 2010, Ms. Yu Xianrong, Project Coordinator at the Sino-German CSR Project, presented at the Energy Efficiency Seminar held in Lingnan College, Zhongshan University, Guangzhou.
The event was organised by Lingnan College, the Hongkong Productivity Council, and the Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC) and was conducted within the framework of the Guangdong Environmental Partnership programme. An Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Academy was launched at Lingnan College as one result of the programme. The Seminar aimed at promoting best practices in energy saving and cleaner production technologies and sought to help suppliers in the Pearl River Delta increase their energy efficiency and reduce costs.
Ms. Yu presented her experiences implementing the Environment-oriented Cost Management (EoCM) tool, an innovative environmental management tool developed by GTZ and applied worldwide, in Zhejiang province.
A total of 120 people from corporate brands and manufacturing companies attended the seminar. In May 2010, the Sino-German CSR Project established a long-term partnership with ISC and Huzhou Shengda Information and Consultancy Co., Ltd, a Chinese consultancy firm to promote EoCM and cleaner production in China. |
