From 16 to 18 October 2009, the Zhejiang Corporate Social Responsibility Training Workshop took place in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. The workshop was hosted by the Zhejiang Economic and Information Technology Commission, the Joint Conference Office of Corporate Social Responsibility Development in Zhejiang and the Zhejiang Enterprise Confederation. It was jointly organized by the Zhejiang Industrial and Economic Research Institution, the Zhejiang Diways Business Consultancy Co., Ltd. and the Zhejiang Gainshine Assessment Co., Ltd. Over forty Zhejiang-based companies out of the 118 CSR pilot companies in Zhejiang attended the workshop.

The Sino-German Corporate Social Responsibility Project, which was the forerunner in the development and promotion of CSR in Zhejiang as early as 2006, was invited to attend the workshop. Mr. Rolf Dietmar, Project Director, attended and delivered a speech on 17 October 2009about Current CSR Developments and Strategic Corporate Responsibility. Mr. Gu Fang, Project Officer, also attended the workshop and communicated and exchanged information with the participating companies.

The participants believed it was a great opportunity to widen their vision on various national and international CSR practices and experiences and to gradually develop and optimize the CSR system using their own characteristics.
