Profitable Environment Management (PREMAnet) is an international training association, which aims at fostering the protection of the environment as well as development and co-operation by spreading and practicing Profitable Environmental Management (PREMA®).
From 19 to 23 October 2009, the 2009 PREMAnet General Assembly was held in Hangzhou. A total of 24 international PREMA professionals from 11 countries and 5 Chinese trainers participated in the event.
Mr. Gu Peilong, Director of the Zhejiang Solid Waste Management and Supervision Center (ZWSMSC) of the Zhejiang Environmental Protection Department, and Mr. Rolf Dietmar, Director of the Sino-German CSR Project, delivered the opening remarks 19 November . Since 2003, the Sino-German Technical Cooperation Programme – Environment-oriented Enterprise Consultancy Zhejiang (EECZ) has introduced Environment-oriented Cost Management (EoCM), one tool from the PREMA toolkit,, to Zhejiang and conducted pilot programmes in 23 industrial companies. Achievements under the EoCM programmes were presented during the opening. The “Triple Win (Economic, Environmental and Social Benefits) within Pilot Companies” legal document issued by the Zhejiang Economic and Information Commission; the establishment of a PREMAnet China office and the marketing strategy were highlighted.
In addition to the information exchange and experience-sharing among participants, three pilot companies in Zhejiang were also visited on21 October 2009. |
