The 2^nd network meeting for pilot companies participating in the Hebei CSR PPP Programme was conducted in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, on 18 September 2009. A total of thirteen representatives from eight companies participated in the meeting.

During the morning session, each company presented their progress with respect to the CSR implementation and results of activities implemented so far, which included improved performance in terms of energy and emissions reduction, improved working and living conditions for employees, building sustainable partnerships with clients and strengthening relationships with suppliers, etc. 

In the afternoon session, Mr. Ma Leijun, Programme Officer of the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM), delivered a presentation and offered his expert knowledge in the area of gender issues. Another international expert, Mr. Iain Shepherd, presented on how to communicate with stakeholders, especially in the area of CSR reporting.

The network meeting provided companies with a platform for exchanging information, as well as an opportunity to raise the awareness on gender issues and the knowledge of stakeholder communication.
