On 15 and 16 July 2009, a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Fundamentals and Management Training was conducted in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. The training was jointly organized by the Sino-German Corporate Social Responsibility Project, the Zhejiang Economic and Information Technology Commission and the Zhejiang Department of Environmental Protection. A total of 24 representatives from eleven pilot enterprises participated in the training. Mr. Rolf Dietmar, Director of the Sino-German Corporate Social Responsible Project, moderated the workshop and officially announced the launch of the Public and Private Partnerships (PPP) Projects in Zhejiang with the 11 participating companies. Mr. Huang Zheming, Vice Division Chief of Law and Industrial Policy Division, Zhejiang Economic and Information Technology Commission, and Mr. Zhang Yu, Deputy Manager of Zhejiang Solid Waste Management and Supervision Center from the Zhejiang Department of Environmental Protection attended and delivered opening remarks.
The training aimed at: understanding fundamental CSR principles, theories, and issues; improving companies’ awareness on CSR; strengthening the companies’ capacity to develop CSR Management systems and manage specific issues. The course consisted of the following components: (i) CSR fundamentals; (ii) Development of a CSR management system; (iii) How to develop a CSR policy; (iv) CSR standard practice procedures; (v) How to establish an efficient CSR management system; (vi) Key elements to successful promotion of CSR management systems; and (vii) How to communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including conducting internal reviews.
The skills acquired through the training will assist participants in better implementing CSR within their companies. |
