The Sino-German Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Project is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Its cooperation partner is the WTO Department of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MofCom). From 2007 to the end of 2012 the project will focus on:
| ● |
strengthening Chinese institutions through policy development and dialogue on CSR; |
| ● |
contributing to the development of an efficient and transparent CSR services market; |
| ● |
developing and implementing CSR policies, strategies and guidelines via public private partnerships (PPP), industry associations and other intermediaries; |
| ● |
facilitating the alignment of domestic and foreign CSR standards; and |
| ● |
promoting international exchange on CSR. | The CSR Project is the first bilateral project of its kind to focus exclusively on CSR in China. It includes an initiative financed by the Monterrey Fund of BMZ from 2009 till 2011 that focuses on scaling up voluntary social standards in China. |
